Araucaria heterophylla (Norfolk Island Pine) seed is due for collection in late May/June. These majestic conifers, endemic to Norfolk Island, are widespread and popular in Australia due to their ability to withstand wind and salt spray, as well as their ability to adapt to sandy soil types . Mature trees can grow to a height in excess of 30m and are used extensively in landscaping works for foreshores, avenues, streets, etc. They also make an excellent indoor plant.
