Bebop

Bebop is a special treatment which "glues" down the hairs of woolly seeds, thereby ensuring a smooth. This enables the seed to flow through sowing and packaging machines without leaving any dust or particles. Bebop seeds are naturally coloured and have a polished appearance. The components of the process are natural, no chemicals are used.

Clipped Seed

Seed that has been modified by the removal of a seed appendage that may make mechanical seeding difficult. In the case of Marigolds, this appendage is known as the tail. The process is known as seed detailing. The process allows for better singulation of seed since the tail has been removed. This makes the seed ideal for mechanical planting.

Coated Seed

Coated Seed is covered with a specially formulated coating to ensure the ease of automatic seeding. The coating may contain a fungicide as a protectant against soil borne diseases.

De-tailed Seed

ElitechT Quality Clipped Seed

ElitechT Quality Clipped Seed. Raw seed that has undergone a seed enhancement process to improve overall seed characteristics but with the added process of having the seed appendage removed for better mechanical sowing.

ElitechT Quality Pelleted Seed

ElitechT Quality Pelleted Seed is selected from the highest quality and germination seed lots and pelleted with a specially formulated shell that assists machine sowing. Pellets may be single seeded or multi seeded depending on the variety.

ElitechT Quality Seed has undergone a process which enhances the natural seed characteristics. The advantages of this process include more evenness in germination, higher germination and improved vigour.

Filmcoat

Filmcoat protects the seed against soil diseases during emergence and gives better disease resistance throughout the culture. The seeds in the filmcoat have been graded (and/or calibrated) for even better uniformity. Filmcoat is applied to varieties that are susceptible to soil diseases and where conditions are less than perfect. Filmcoat is user friendly and ecologically sound. It is dust free and will not obstruct packaging or sowing machinery. Its green colouring makes the seed easily visible.

GoldStartT

GoldStartT Seeds have been partially germinated and then dried back so as to suspend germination. This process produces very high and even germination, more uniform vigour and excellent results where temperature conditions may prove to be less than desirable at germination.

Graded Seed

Graded Seeds are of uniform size, enabling precision sowing, ensuring uniform seedlings and regular plant growth even at flower time.

Multi Pelleted

Multi Pelleted Seed is selected from the highest quality and germination seed lots and is pelleted with a specially formulated shell that assists machine sowing. Pellets contain 2 to 3 seeds per pellet, depending on the variety.

Natural Seed

Natural Seed in its raw form which has not been modified in any way.

Primed Seed

Primed Seed has been partially germinated and then dried back so as to suspend germination. This process produces very high and even germination, more uniform vigour and excellent results where temperature conditions may prove to be less than desirable at germination.

QIS

QIS series are considerable improvements over standard cut flower varieties with regard to uniformity, colour, stem quality, and in Delphinium, a double variety.

Raw Seed

Raw Seed in its raw form which has not been modified in any way.

Rubbed Seed

Rubbed Seed enables precision sowing and makes varieties accessible to professional plant growers. Possible seed transmitted diseases are brushed off in the process of seed rubbing. Rubbed seeds emerge into healthy young plants.

Stripcoat

Stripcoat is a filmcoat treatment which is applied to stripped seeds in order to protect them from soil borne diseases.

Stripped Seed

Stripped Seed is stripped from the outer skin layer of the seed.

Tuned Seed

Tuned Seeds® are specially treated, offering seeds that give predictable and uniform performance. TunedSeeds® offer high and more uniform emergence of seedlings under higher temperatures and a wider temperature window. This increases the percentage of viable plants and gives a higher return on investment.
