AUSTRAHORT NEWSLETTER

FEBRUARY 2009

Message from Mike

Dear Customers,

Welcome to 2009, likely to be a tough one so with this Newsletter, I hope to get off to a
flying start with attractive pricing, specials and some interesting lines coming up from production. Seed lines listed in Specials are expected during February and March. Atalaya hemiglauca tested recently at 98 % viability and keen prices on other seed lines should make for attractive buying.

All will well understand the challenges we face in the foreseeable future. We must ensure an ability to pay for our purchases and must ensure that creditor payments are maintained without any particular slowing – this as we know is a constant challenge but unless we are all vigilant in this regard, slowing of creditor payments will only exacerbate the overall position.

The changes we have seen and will continue to see are happening so quickly – what was true a month ago in some cases can be diametrically different one month later. Can you believe that the buoyancy of Dubai, the splendor, the New World emerging has all come to a grinding halt with commercial contracts being cancelled wholesale, with Visa retractions, we hear, being cancelled at the rate of 2000 per week, with the total collapse of the second hand car industry and we are told, maybe 5000 motor cars dumped at Dubai Airport, left by expatriates unable to do anything else – worrying times and not widely reported – that fact even more worrying!

E-mail – Over the Christmas break we experienced a breakdown in the line servicing our e-mail resulting in incoming mail not being received. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, however Telstra have now rectified the problem and from here on, there should be no interference in service levels.

Electronic Shopping – After experiencing some teething problems this facility is now operating smoothly and in fact, producing regular orders from new customers at home and abroad so if convenient to your purchasing plans, please don’t hesitate to use this facility.

Once again thank you all for your continued support.

Best wishes

Mike Farrar
