AUSTRAHORT NEWSLETTER

FEBRUARY 2010

Message from Mike

Dear Customers,

The start of another year, we wish you all the very best for 2010 and trust that business for all is pleasing and uncomplicated by unexpected events!

For us, we will be endeavoring to do our business better than ever before, focused on areas we think improvement is merited. One area we will concentrate on is inventory control and here we have Jasmine Carter dedicated full time to this essential aspect of any business, seeking to ensure we have control over perishable items and that back orders are given the full credit for their value to us – we effectively look upon them as cash. If at any time you feel we have let you or ourselves down, I will be pleased to know.

Direct seeding – for many years we have been working with Richard Weatherly, the owner and producer of the ECO Tree-seeder, supplying seed for farmland revegetation. The seeders have found their way onto properties in western Victoria, NSW and Queensland and the images show the seeder in action, before and after shots and clear impressions of the strike rates for mixed species, in some cases exceeding twenty species.

There are many benefits to flow from affoliation of paddocks, greater productivity, refuge for young stock, the development of a complex insect and bird ecology, all of which add value to the asset without at any time decreasing production and yields from the paddocks…. A definite win win situation and If we can interest any client in this topic, someone who may be considering plantations for carbon credits, then please call us.

Once again, thank you all for your continued support.

Mike Farrar
