AUSTRAHORT NEWSLETTER

JUNE 2009

Message from Mike

Dear Customers,

Where is the winter? Such a lot of unseasonal rain on the east coast has certainly delayed the onset of cold weather. Coastal damage has been considerable with many prestigious homes lost into the sea, it is to be hoped that none of our customers have sustained similar damages from floods or sea surges.

Native Grasses - a strange irony has occurred wherein very little cropping has occurred this year compared to last year with plants obviously directing rain fed energies into vegetative growth rather than seed yields. We are very keen to maintain our momentum in the field of native grass and legumes and would be pleased to hear from anyone aware of an impending seed crop.

Staff
– In these difficult economic times where we are constantly bombarded about the reality or otherwise of the effects of global recessions etc, it is a pleasure to be able to acknowledge my staff all of whom are known to you. Running a business without good and competent staff is a nightmare so it is a particular joy for me to be able to move about developmentally, to travel overseas etc, and to know that the “staff” are here daily responding to your needs – on your and my behalf, a big thank you to all the “staff” and some advance information, Jasmine Carter (formerly seed room) will rejoin us in September at the conclusion of her maternity leave and will focus on customer service and inventory control.

Stocktake - Please note, due to stocktake, we will not be dispatching orders on 29th – 30th June inclusive, but will resume our regular trading on 1st July.

Best wishes to you all and thank you for your invaluable business support!

Mike Farrar
