Acacia excelsa - Ironwood / Ironwood Wattle

This is a tree to 15m with variable habit - can be erect, spreading and even weeping - flowers are very pale yellow balls and these occur in Winter, bark is dark grey and fissured.  This species is distributed in southern inland Queensland and extends into New South Wales.

Corymbia torelliana syn Eucalyptus torelliana - Cadaga / Cadaghi /Cadaghi Gum / Cadagi Tree

A large tree to 30m with a dense canopy of large leaves, native to the rainforests of north Queensland.  It has rough, dark brown or red brown bark which is persistent on the lower part of the trunk and remainder is smooth and often shed in strips.  Flowers are white and borne in small groups arranged into larger clusters at the ends of branches in Spring.

Hovea acutifolia 

An open, upright, adaptable shrub to 2-4m, it is very pretty when flowering and bears masses of purple-blue pea shaped flowers in Winter to Spring.  It has glossy dark green leaves which are covered with dense grey to brown rusty hairs.  New growth is rust coloured.
