Common Name: Illawarra Plum
Native to New South Wales and Queensland coastal rainforests. A medium to large evergreen tree growing 30 to 36 m tall with a trunk diameter up to 1.5 m. Leaves are shiny, narrow with pointed tips. Seeds are dark blue/purple consisting of a berry about 2.5 cm and a fruit covered seed about 1.5 cm. The berry is edible raw or made into condiments, ripening March to July. Prefers full sun to part shade, most soil types with adequate drainage. Tolerates coastal conditions.
