Common Name: Gymea Lily
Native to coastal New South Wales. A clumping perennial with a rosette formation, sword shaped leaves up to 1 m long. The flower spike emerges in winter, reaching up to 6 m tall. A large cluster of red trumpet-shaped flowers appear on top of the spike in spring. Nectar rich flowers attract birds, bees and other insects. Used as an architectural landscaping specimen, can be grown in containers. Hardy, low maintenance, tolerant to coastal conditions and drought resistant. Prefers sun to half shade.
