Common Name: Peruvian Pepper
Native to the Peruvian Andes, an evergreen, dioecious tree growing to 15 m with a drooping habit. Small white flowers appear in profuse panicles followed by green berries which ripen to red/pink in dense clusters late spring to early autumn. Fruit are referred to as pink peppercorns although it is no related to true pepper (Piper nigrum). Hardy, drought tolerant.
